Hazardous Transport Kit
Transportation of hazardous materials or general transport through gas plants, mines, or any other potentially dangerous locations carries with it an increased amount of risk in the case of an emergency. Having the right safety tools to protect the well-being of your transportation specialists is crucial. Safety regulations are also important to meet, so a kit carefully designed to help with both is convenient and practical.
Included is a 10 lb ABC fire extinguisher with a heavy-duty vehicle bracket, to be set up wherever is most convenient for the drivers to access.
The heavy duty 4 gauge jumper cables are 20 feet long, to help push enough power to your trucks at inconvenient lengths or angles.
A Class 1/Division 2 flashlight was specifically included in this kit due to it being safely usable when flammable gases, vapors, or liquids such as acetylene, hydrogen, ethylene, or propane are present or even mixed (such as on oil refineries, gas plants, offshore oil rigs). Anyone that handles such or similar chemical products should have this on hand.
High-visibility items are also included to help increase visibility of both the drivers and the trucks, and alert passerby drivers for help as well as redirecting traffic with the vests and LED batons.
This kit is was designed in cooperation with hazardous material transport specialists, and is currently in use on hazardous material transport trucks across the country.
